In this role you will develop and implement Wheat and Barley campaigns designed to achieve the growth and revenue goals of KWS Cereals business activities in North America. Furthermore in this position you need to enhance and communicate the KWS value proposition through strategic planning and best in practice marketing.

Essential job functions (excerpt):

  • Manage the entire Soft Red and Soft White Wheat and Hard Red Spring Wheat portfolios being tested in the region in relation to the midterm operational and strategic planning – including product segmentation

  • Manage winter and spring Barley portfolios being tested in the region in relation to the midterm operational and strategic planning – including product segmentation

  • Ensure products are produced according to design, quality, and price specifications

  • Develop strong partnerships with breeders and business including sales and marketing

  • Drive the interest for farmers to grow Soft Red Wheat by hosting events such as field days, training sessions and other special events

  • Direct, process and handle the commercial aspects of all varieties

  • Observe, review, evaluate and select from yield trials to make best recommendations for commercial use.

  • Prepare and manage budget             

Your profile:

  • BA/BS or equivalent in Breeding or related scientific fields (i.e., Agronomy, Genetics, Horticulture, etc.) with professional experience; or minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in crop improvement, variety development, and commercial practices

  • Proven product management technical background and experience in seed business (cereals preferred)

  • Strong computer, statistical, analytical and creative skills

  • Valid driver’s license

Preferred qualifications:

  • Advanced Degree in related field with related experience

  • Specialized knowledge of variety testing, statistical analysis and experimental design

  • Experience in budget and project management, leadership skills

  • People management and successful in working with teams

  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent communication skills, verbal, written and presentation skills

  • Critical and logical thinking ability to plan present and future needs

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
